This reading was about policer officers as well as higher officials, doing what is needed to prevent danger. The reading talked about 2 acts of murder, that were done by officials, against suspected terrorists. The point behind the readings were basically to let the reader realize that desperate times call for desperate measures. Sometimes, when someone is thought to be doing something extremely wrong, such as terrorists attacks, officials have to go after them and brutally kill them without giving them a chance to speak. The first story spoke of how an officer killed someone who was disabled yet could still have the ability to kill him or someone else. It seems wrong and immoral to kill a disabled person but when your life is on the line, in that split second you do what you have to do. I think that both of these stories called for desperate measures because you never know what someone is capable of.
